The Tempe Water Lantern Festival is set to take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11. Participants will release decorated lanterns onto the water at Kiwanis Park, creating a stunning display of floating lights.

The water lanterns are typically made of rice paper and wood, and they often contain a small candle or LED light. Participants design and personalize their lanterns before releasing them onto the water.

The Tempe Water Lantern Festival is a family-friendly experience with food trucks, music and entertainment, with the main highlight being the lantern launch from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The festival supports Water.org, which provides safe water and sanitation to families worldwide. The event emphasizes sustainability, with lanterns made from eco-friendly materials and thorough cleanup after the event.
